2015 Competition

A lot of 2015's biggest Hip Hop releases have had black and white covers. The Summertime '06 cover is also black and white and so I think it blends in with the rest of competition. If someone is scrolling down a page with albums on, they might not notice it because it doesn't stand out from the crowd. Also, at a glance, they might mistake it for another album with a black and white colour scheme such as the ones shown below and pay it no attention. I feel this cover gives it potential to go under the radar.

Big Sean - Dark Sky Paradise (Billboard No.1 with 139,000 first week sales)

A$AP Rocky - At.Long.Last.A$AP (Billboard No.1 with 116,000 first week sales)

Joey Bada$$ - B4.DA.$$ (Billboard No.5 with 54,000 first week sales)

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly (Billboard No.1 with 324,000 first week sales)

Earl Sweatshirt - I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside (Billboard No.12 with 30,000 first week sales)

Drake - If You're Reading This Its Too Late (Billboard No.1 with 495,000 first week sales)

Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment - Surf (Free with 618,000 first week iTunes downloads)
